Triethyl Citrate (TEC) is a naturally sourced and versatile active ingredient with excellent skincare and deodorising properties, making it ideal for deodorants, anti-perspirants, emollients, nail polish, and many other many personal care products.
It consists 100% of natural materials – citric acid and ethanol – and is used as an ideal carrier for flavours in the food industry. It is also permitted as a processing aid to whip egg whites.
In the personal care applicaton, TEC can be used as a solvent, diluent and fixative. It is also a preferred active ingredient in deodorants formulations as it inhibits the enzymatic decomposition of sweat components.
